CorvairJim Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Just a few comments: 1) I'm not really that much of a Mopar fan... 2) I'm not big into Pro Street either... 3) That is one TOUGH LOOKIN' DUSTER! It sits just right, and the hood scoop fits the style of the car perfectly. I'll be watching this one!
mopar01lee Posted April 2, 2012 Author Posted April 2, 2012 just wait till you find out the paint job its gettin...... lets just say .. its from the 70's
Tedly Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 I'm liking this one! where did you get the gold center wheels? Any idea on paint yet?
Dweb7321 Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 That is the meanest looking duster I have ever seen, keep it up.
mopar01lee Posted April 2, 2012 Author Posted April 2, 2012 yes on the paint .. but its a secret.. all i can say at the moment is its from the 70;s pro stock era.. the rear wheels an tires are from pegasus they are the funny car set . i also have the font ones too..thanks fellas... much love to the forum.. later days... Davin
mopar01lee Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 ok so i got a few new pics of the cage an the valve covers..... and the cover shot..lol . enjoy .. later days .. im done updating now ..lol Davin
slantasaurus Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Some really nice work but I have to ask, if you took the time to scratchbuild Mopar Wedge valve covers why did you add too many hold down bolts and mount them upside down ?
mopar01lee Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 (edited) thanks .. well for one ur right i did mount them upside down , but ther not glued . it was a quick mock up for pic.. as far as the bolts go .. i kw i added more.....i mean come on its a 615 pro stock motor.. i wouldnt trust 6 lill bolts holdin down a cover to keep that valve train from comin out if it blows.... lmao im gonna add a few more to it.. whale392 Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Reminds me of a project I had going back in the winter of 1998........ , , I like this body style built in this manner; my personal belief is these Dusters were designed to look slick sitting Pro-Stock/Pro-Street style. I look forward to seeing how yours evolves.
mopar01lee Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 looks good .. what chassie did you use .. it looks kinda short in the back area.. i like it ...
whale392 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 One of the reasons I have yet to finish it is the chassis. It came from the Warren Johnson Pro-Stock Olds kit. I was building it in the Navy barracks I was staying in without the use of good tools or supplies (Health and Comfort inspections can be a pain). I will return to this one day and finish this project, but it won't be soon.
mopar01lee Posted April 22, 2012 Author Posted April 22, 2012 ok lil update on this one . got the body in primer still doin body work to the hood to smooth it out,got the wing on.. cut the kit coil sp[rings out an added aluminum wire coated blue as new coil springs... later days .......davin
