crazyjim Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Just finished my Chevelle. It's in HOK tangerine kandy, 2 coats of sunset pearl, then cleared and polished. Engine features a Fatkidd style distributor and is wired in the correct firing order.
Bartster Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Very nice, Jim! It's very realistic. And so.........SHINY! Haha! I like the interior alot. Clean & functional. The color complements the body color perfectly!

1zebra3 Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 VERY NICE 65 Jim. I'm not a chevy guy but I"m building a resin 64 chevelle conv.curbside for a friends dad for fathers day gift. Do you know what I could use for the conv cover? scratch build?
ChevyCoupe41 Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Nice build! I liked that interior a lot and the body color is very nice.
crazyjim Posted March 11, 2012 Author Posted March 11, 2012 That's my line, Bart. Thank you. The bumpers are made for a front & rear plate, Neal. That forced me to use a state plate in the rear and Vietnam Veteran plate in the front. Everybody way back when had a Sun superball on their antenna - at least around the Chicago area. What about a paper towel soaking in diluted Elmer's Glue, Matt? I've never tried it but have seen scale tarps made that way. The interior is stock guys. I just brush painted a couple of Testors bottle paint. I try to use flat paint but when the need arises, I have bottles of flat and semi-gloss. I don't care for shiny interiors. Used a little BMF and Ken's Fuzzi Fur for flocking.

Do you know what I could use for the conv cover? scratch build? OK thanks Jim but I guess I didnt call it the right thing. It would be the convertible top cover, for when the top is folded down ( convertible boot ? ) P.S. found something very close from a 64 GTO convertible. Thanks Matt
Dirkpitt289 Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Nice job. The Vietnam service ribbon is a nice touch
crazyjim Posted March 12, 2012 Author Posted March 12, 2012 Thanks, Dirt. The ribbon goes on all my builds. You a Vietnam Vet too?
