I want NOS bottles but we all know in the future we will have a great looking 5.30 engine/carbs to use. Maybe that means they will go in another car. I should 'settle' for a blown engine.

Did I miss out on something again???? What 5.3 motor ???who's making that???? Seems im in the dark about this can someone clue me in ???

I might be wrong......I thought Dave Smith was making drawing/carbs/engines that some day we would prob see on the TDR site.

Another delima is headers. I don't think a carb car would run Zoomie headers. I can make a nice set of Zoomie's by copying Chris's ideas. A great looking set of zoomies might be better than a fair set of spaghetti-type headers...all based on my inability to make them.

happy Friday everyone. :)

Jack, I have seen a few carb cars running zoomie headers, not many but a few, back in the early days when the Late Great Ronnie Sox was driving the Comet, he ran carbs & zoomies, I've seen a pic of a car recently (it's running now, not a "in the past" thing) that is running carbs & zoomies, if I find it again I'll let you know what it is, but the rules don't say that a carbed car can't run zoomies, any type of header is allowed.

jack, i believe i read earlier in your post that you had issues with the TDR tubs. did you ever contact tim at TDR? appearently shapeways is having a problem with curing there materials and sent out some inferior products. i suggest that if you haven't contacted TDR. that you do so.

Thanks Dave, I have been swamped at work and have had zero time building anything right now. The tubs I got were a little out of their correct shape. Not quite tucked in at the free ends. Or maybe the outside radius was larger than the inside radius because the ends were spread out. Once I forced them into postion by the frame work, they were wonderful and I was really happy I purchased the parts. Having a pair of tubs exactly the same size and thickness, with that wide-radius corner edge was a huge timesaver. If I built another frame I would use them again for sure! One of my fave parts on the frame. If one wants to have a set finished off the car, one might have a problem.

So far everything I recieved from Shapways has been really good! Sometimes the bags are wet and smelly from the fluid, but after soaking in Bleachwhite then washing and drying, I have been thrilled with the parts. My biggest problem has been the desire for more!!

Guys, sometimes work gets in the way of fun. I'll be back soon, but teaching new systems for the first time requires hours of prepping. Most of my time has been spent studying.

just wanted to let you know there was a problem. they have corrected it, so i am told. TDR gets premium prices for premium parts. if you have a problem with anything in the future, call before you use the part. there is no need to accept so-so or flawed parts.
