Rusty Sierra Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Here's my attempt at the '70 chevelle baldwin motion chevelle. I tried a lot of stuff with this kit that was new to me. I finally got a sheet of bare metal and did that for the first time, it came out alright I think . I wired the spark plugs and detailed all the chrome parts. The kit went together nicely except for the rear panel piece that sits under the rear bumper. The paint is dupli-color engine red or something. When I sprayed the clear, the clear was not clear... It was dull coat.I kinda dug the flat red so I just ran with it.
ZombieHunter26 Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 I have to say, I dig the flat red color myself Very nice build, Rusty!
Dr. Cranky Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 I do too. Seeing this one makes me want to finish mine. Great job.
Assa9 Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Outstanding and kudos for trying and succeeding at new things
camaroman Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Looks like my 1:1 67 Camaro... after a few years the clear coat "died" leaving a funky shade of flat red instead of the shiny Bolero Red... ...
deathskull59 Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 i did my 69 chevelle red that turned out flat.
TheCat Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 WOW... that flat red does look great. Nice engine detail as well. The Bare Netal went on pretty good for your first time. It will get easier when you keep using it.
Rusty Sierra Posted March 29, 2012 Author Posted March 29, 2012 the only issue I had with the bare metal was that the wheel wells didn't really have crisp lines due to my sanding, I tried to watch them as best I could but I should have watched em closer I guess.
PARTSMARTY Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 (edited) I'M SORRY -THE FLAT RED WASN'T FOR ME-CAR IS VERY COOL OTHERWISE. Edited March 29, 2012 by PARTSMARTY
DumpyDan Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Looks great, to me looks like thus car has been sitting out side for 40 years and you just found a classic. Like it Like it, where about in Ontario are you located?
george 53 Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Is THAT the engine that comes in this kit? I was gonna buy it just for the hood(I want one in 25th scale) but that motor looks really snazzy!!!!!! There's a green one on the latest issue of Musclecar Review that I'd like to try an build.
