Scorpius1 Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Would anyone know what the roof of these things looks like. Trying to build a new van out of the "Bill Mavericks" Dodge truck kit and am missing shots of the roof top. Tried the Flintstone resin one but decided to just go ahead and make a new body.
disabled modeler Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 I have the resin body....its nice but cant post photos yet.
Scorpius1 Posted April 1, 2012 Author Posted April 1, 2012 No problem, just wondering if anyone had a decent pic somewhere of the real 1:1 Van roof. My OCD is kicking in again!
gray07 Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Go to www.vannin.com theres alot of vans and you can find a picture of one, look in there gallery
Foxer Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 I've been doing a A100 pickup but have saved a few van photos while researching details. They aren't the best but might help a little. Be sure to post what you come up with!
Scorpius1 Posted April 2, 2012 Author Posted April 2, 2012 Wow Guys, thanks a million for the links and shots! They are a really big help. I have the Flintstone conversion and compared it to lots of Dodge pics and some things just don't click like the front windshield curves, front vents under the windshield, rear door windows and the roof is way off. Must be getting anal retentive in my old age. So, what I'm going to do is make an all-new resin conversion to start or maybe an all-new resin kit. Depends on the availability of the Lindberg base kit's availability. Next up is a 65 Chevy van!
Scorpius1 Posted April 2, 2012 Author Posted April 2, 2012 I've collected around 100 photos of the 65-66 Chevy Vans. Just need a set of blueprints/line drawings and some chassis shots to get the project underway. Good drawings of any early van are like finding the old needle in a haystack!
gray07 Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Theres alot of people that like the ford econoline of the 60s
Scorpius1 Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 Especially me Gray, used to own a 64 Econoline Panel.
