larrygre Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Hey everyone, Looking for good photos of funny car engines from the early to mid 1970s to help detail the recent issues from Revell and the forthcoming funny cars from Round2. Also any modeling articles, in print and online, that show how to use braided line and A/N fittings on such engines. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Yeah I know, thats the last shovel of dirt on the grave of my "Strictly Stock" reputation!!!
slantasaurus Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Several years ago, late 90s or early 00s, Scale Auto did a 2 part article on detailing 70s style Funny Cars. If all of my issues weren't 1000 miles away I would tell you which issues they were. They also included info on correcting the stance of some of the Revell F/C kit bodys. I'm sure someone will chime in with the issue #s or go over to the other place and check their list of back issues and you might be able to still order them.
Dragracer Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Ron is right, I will chime in with the info needed, Scale Auto, June #131 & August #132 from 2000, the article covers detailing F/C engines from 1968-1974.
Mike Kucaba Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Gotta go with that. Drews two part series was the bomb on that era of F/C!
larrygre Posted April 13, 2012 Author Posted April 13, 2012 Thanks guys! Being that I do mostly replica stock I never immersed myself in the art of braided lines and A/N fittings but now that I got the itch to do the AA/FCs from the good old days...lets just say you can teach an old dog new tricks! Thanks again!!
Chuck Most Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Well... strictly stock can mean more than factory stock, right?
