Lownslow Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 i like widebody cars but making them is kind of a pita and im not much of a fan for butchering cars for it so i decided to try this. basically wrapped the body with tinfoil then added mold release wrapped it with a stocking then soaked the stocking in resin. once that dries im gonna do another coat of resin with baking soda see how it turns out.
Scuderia Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 That's pretty novel idea.. Would this idea / process be suitable for a normal duplication of a body?
Lownslow Posted April 13, 2012 Author Posted April 13, 2012 im not sure but if you did the body would be out of scale
crazyjim Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 I don't understand what you're trying to do, Frank.
Bartster Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 It looks to me like a different way to make a mold?
Lownslow Posted April 13, 2012 Author Posted April 13, 2012 was trying to do the whole fiberglass thing to figure out if i can make panels i wanted to make a buck for wide body fenders then soak the stocking in resin till i had a piece that could be molded and added to a body, im sure if i put more effort into it i might succeed
