Not much to show of this one. More pictures later this week or early next once I'm settled.

I've always wanted to build a "flat" car, so this was it. I'm going for the SCCA SOLO racer look. The interior has very little complete, same with the drivetrain. It will be mostly stock, with the exception of a cone filter and some racing seats. The hood will be carbon fiber, and I've got some Fujimi BBS wheels with a yellow lip. At first, I lowered the car 1 scale inch, to replicate the popular lowered stance, but something was out of whack, and the tires hit the fenders, so I had to bring it back up to stock in the rear.

As you look at these, please realize my camera SUCKS. The door panel wash is actually darker than the body, and the body is actually flat. :D

I love BMW's and the e36 platform has really grown on me. That color looks cool and I can see the flat hue it has. I believe the flash on your camera is what is causing everything to look different. Try using lamps or another form of light and turn your flash off. Keep on building!

This is the old discontinued Revell kit (Which was reissued based on the Tamiya kit).

The "SOLO" comes from the SCCA SOLO events. See http://www.scca.com/solo/. I run these events with my real car.

The build delay got longer. I have to wait until all my stuff catches up to me now that I've moved.

Got the interior just about finished up. I'm going to build a harness bar (you can see the start of it on top of the door panels) for the 5 point harnesses. I went for the "this car has 80k miles on it" look, so that's why I did a dirty wash and toned it down a bit. I added a tach, swapped the front seats for some Sparco Speed seats, and went with a Sparco steering wheel. All are typical changes in a SOLO car.

Chassis is done.

The only not out-of-the-box part is a custom cat-back exhaust wrapped in BMF.

I would finish this up today, but I don't have the carbon fiber or seatbelts here. Maybe next week.

Small update.

I got the seats and seatbelts installed. This was my first time using PE seatbelts, and I think it came out halfway decent.

All that's left to do is get the body on the chassis, random decals and do the SMS carbon fiber hood. This should be in Under Glass tomorrow :)
