LDO Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I'm so excited. I just can't hide it... Anyway- I'm leaving a job that has been a nightmare and going back to the company where I was laid off 2 years ago. I'm so happy to be leaving my current job. I can hardly put it into words. I'm even going back making more than when I left. I just feel so lucky. No job is perfect, but it's hard to imagine a job worse than the one I'm leaving. Life is great!
Harry P. Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Are you about to lose control and you think you like it?
LDO Posted April 17, 2012 Author Posted April 17, 2012 I just may. I'm a plumber, btw. My new boss said he wants me in a work van "the MOMENT" the drug screen results come back. He said giving 2 weeks' notice is the right thing to do, but he needs me in a truck now. I've asked a couple of friends to write "I'm outta here" on me <ahem> in a spot that I can't reach, but no takers so far.
Chuck Most Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I've asked a couple of friends to write "I'm outta here" on me <ahem> in a spot that I can't reach, but no takers so far. I'd do it if it weren't such a long drive for me. Glad you're in a better job- now celebrate and blow a little cash on some kits and/or supplies.
LDO Posted April 18, 2012 Author Posted April 18, 2012 You don't KNOW how bad I want to do that and send my boss a picture. I picked up the new Chrysler kit today at the LHS. Yes, I'll spend 4 bucks more at the LHS just because I like having an LHS. I'm also picking one up for a buddy in New Zealand.
Ben Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Cool! Glad to hear it! I left a job I absolutely hated and the boss was trying to cripple me back on the 5th. I hope I find something better soon!
Greg Wann Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I am a plumber too. I work at Arizona State University, been there 11 years now. Worked at Purdue University for 23 years before that. Plumbing work can be a real nightmare with all those board students around to purposely stop up drains and tear up stuff! Urinals and kitchen drains are the worst!
LDO Posted April 18, 2012 Author Posted April 18, 2012 I have a friend who worked at UT Austin. He was working on the drain for a dorm building. They had posted notices saying don't flush between X and Y times, so of course everyone flushed while he had the pipe cut open. Eh. I woulda done the same LOL
rmvw guy Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Congrats Lee! It's always good to here of someone having a successful employment opportunity. Things are looking up!
