I have a really vague memory of a '56 in Custom Rodder magazine. I'll need to dig out my back issues and find it. I'm hoping there are no huge differences. Again, it's a vague memory, but I do remember being blown away by it. It is not the copper/orange car from Hot Rod a few issues back.

Nothing major mechanically- pretty much just some of the trim and (maybe) a few interior pieces- but since you mentioned the one you're thinking about is a custom some of that may not even apply.

A quick Google search makes me think it was likely this one. I do love some lead sleds, and when I saw this car, I thought that just screams Richard Zocchi. Sure enough...

(edit). Two great pics I found just won't post here. It was built by Richard Zocchi.

I love that grille, too

I just found out it's a Chrysler Windsor, though. I need to make a new title for this thread...Meh. I'll just gather photos and break out the razor saw and putty.

Take a close look at the pictures Jon posted above. There are some pretty big differences in the rear quarter panels and bumper, also about as many changes in the front of the 2 cars. They might look very similar but there are several subtle changes. Saying they are the same is like calling a 55 and 56 Chevy the same.

Yeah. Not cool. I was thinking it was a 300 since I saw it in the magazine way back when. Bummer.
