charlie8575 Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Very nice work. I especially like the idea of using a lunch sack to help with some of the masking. Did you have much trouble with bleed-through at all? I would think the paper would still cause some of that. That engine is beautiful. This kit is worth it for that alone. Charlie Larkin
philo426 Posted May 6, 2012 Author Posted May 6, 2012 No bleed through.I didn't lay down heavy wet coats so it is a very effective technique!
deja-view Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 This is a great car to do. My dad had a '57 300 that was the same "pink" (coral). After it faded a bit it was easier to look at. I just bought an ERTL '57 300 of the same color and I was surprised to see that it actually captures it really well. Yours looks a little "hot", but then it's a computer screen and the paint is really fresh. I'll bet with the chrome and other colors it will blend perfectly. I think his interior was similar, too. But the portion you have tan was some kind of grayish with a pattern to it. Those seats seemed a mile wide.
philo426 Posted May 8, 2012 Author Posted May 8, 2012 Put on the bright work today.Next up:Install the glass and rear view mirror.
philo426 Posted May 8, 2012 Author Posted May 8, 2012 Mounted the body to the chassis and the fit was so good I didn't need cement!
