62rebel Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 i recall Revell including in most of their kits (during the '70s mostly) a decal sheet literally bursting with cool sponsor logos, close to if not exactly 1/25 scale (not the humongous 1/20 scale AMT sponsor sheets) and faithfully reproducing era logos. trouble is, at that time i had little interest in drag cars, muscle cars, etc; all i built was replica stock. now that i've broadened my modeling horizons, i'd love to see those sheets back in publication.
Modelmartin Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 Those were great decals. I have several of them which I guard closely. Maybe some of the ALPS guys can re-pop them before their supplies run out.
SoCalCarCulture Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 Slixx has a couple of nostalgic contingency sheets available... http://www.slixx.com/
1320wayne Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 I still have three of the old Autoworld sponsor logo sheets from back in the day. These have some really rare markings on them and remarkably they are still good to use.
Modelmartin Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 The old Revell parts pack decals were really cool too. They had some markings that never appeared anywhere else. The neat thing about the Revell 70s sheets is that they also had some unique decals like the Juicebox. Ah! memories!
Don Sikora II Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 The sheet you are talking about was in at least one SSP re-issue during the 1990s, pretty sure it was the orange 70 Camaro funny car, can't remember the name for sure...think it was Heavy Hugger or something similar.
