I finally started a project that I can actually show you guys since I got my new hobby room up and running. It's the AMT Phantom Vickie body and interior mounted on Revell '32 running gear, with a Rep+Min 2 carb intake mounted on the engine, and the Rik Hoving mastered removable hardtop.

Plan is too be jet black with a white top and red and white interior. It's a classic color combo, but I've never actually done it on any of my

I have been planning this project since the PV kit came out 7 years ago. just could never seem to make time for it on the bench. It's practically falling together, so maybe I'll get it finished for the HH Dream Cruise too.

Not much into street rods, but I like the looks of that! Ditto about the redlines-------that really makes the car, especially with those wheels! 8)

I like the fenders and redlines too but change the roofline. Chop it down.... change the side opening shape... just change it somehow to make it YOURS!

K?

K!

Yeah, Andy's got it!

chop a bit off the back side to lower the back of the roof and then fill in the sides to make a correct Carson! Brilliant! The back edge of the Vicky body and the back edge of the side window opening should be at or near the same angle. Would be VERY cool!

Ok, first the answer on the redlines. they are the big and littles wheels and tires from revells '32 (3window and speedwagon. not the roadster) with Pegasus Hobbbies vinyl redlines applied. i've used these before and haven't had a problem with them losing adhesion. The spokes will be painted magnesium

Jairus, am i wrong or didn't you create the Phantom Vickie idea for AMT? I'm gonna stick with that top because I've always liked the look of it, the way it mimics the SoCal Plating '35 Ford delivery truck. i just always thought the way AMT executed it it arches too high. The top I'm using is a resin peice modified by Rik Hoving for Rep and Min of Md.. , it has been de-arched quite a bit. I love this body style, so when I finish this one I've going to a channelled east coast style rod, maybe on that one I'll do a carson top.

Thanks for looking guys. I gladly accept constructive criticism, so it is appreciated

Ok Jairus, I may relent to your suggestion. I just picked up the latest issue of MCM and saw the pic of Vince Lobosco's fendered Phantom Vickie. His looks awesome, as always. I've known Vince for 10+ years, but haven't talked to him in quite awhile since I now live 1200 miles away. Back when the Phantom Vickie kit came out we discussed how cool it would be with fenders. Glad he got his done because his results are outstanding!

But after seeing his I realized mine would be too similar to his, so I may take you up on your advice and alter the top to a Carson-style top. The rest of the model is mostly painted, i'll be posting pics within a couple days. At least this alteration doesn't affect the rest of the build, so i should be able to keep moving on it. Stay tuned!

Here's an update. Just about everything is painted now and ready for assembly. I took Andy and Jairus advice and altered the roof. I like the look, but I liked the original too. Now you can see the lincoln valve covers.

The engine and chassis are now finished. Once I finish repainting the seats(botched 2 tone job) I should be able to button this one up. Then i can get started on my Merc!

It's the first time i have used cigarette pack foil to simulate heat shielding(under the rearend and exhaust). it looks really nice i think. The only reason i tried it was to hide the revell trademark stuff i forgot to remove, but I'll be using it again for sure!

Ran into a snag on the interior. There is a visible gap between the body and fenders, so I had to make new inner fender wells and modify the seat. Now that this is done hopefully this one will finish up quick.
