Everyone gets nostalgic for the best times in their life. For most of us that is our high school years and into our twenties. Fun, new found freedom, good health, friends, our first taste of love (before it cost us half of our stuff), and the cars we used to "get around" in. Now if I'd only kept my 56 Chevy and 69 Camaro I could retire soon!

That is some of the past I don't want to remember!!! :lol:

Cars that are bringing big bucks at BJ Auction and we bought dirt cheap and just beat the hell out of them then threw them away! :( We had no idea that these cars we bought and sold for a few hundred bucks would ever be worth a small fortune! :blink:

Where does my nostalgia lie? It mostly lies about my age!! :lol:

Good to see you again, Manny. I hope you can resume your '56 Golden Hawk build soon. Take care, and best to you!

Focusing the nostalgia on model cars:

wooden model car kits by Ace, Berkely, and Hudson miniatures;

Walter Musciano's book, Building and Operating Model Cars;

Tenite friction drive plastic promos;

AMT Three-In-One Customizing Kits;

large, elaborate tin plate models from Marusan and Bandai;

gas powered tether racers.

Anyone else?

I grew up in the 70s in Los Angeles, so I like the late 60s and early 70s vehicles, but mostly lowriders, customs, vans, surf buggies, etc . . . I think most of us like what we saw and grew up liking.

Which is the reason why I am delighted to have some of those 70s van kits back in circulation.

My nostalgia goes back to the time when I was 8 years old to 16, when I started thinking about owning my first car, all the time building models and rideing my bike around the streets admiring other people's rides. This was 1958 to 1966 and I still love these cars today and of course the hot rods during this time period. It all seemed to crash around the Vietnam war era.
