Wagoneer81 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Rest in Peace, Mr. Bell... I always enjoyed your work. Your talents will be sorely missed.
Joker Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 I remember his art work from the Custom Rodder magazines when they used to show model cars. Street Rodder magazine too ...for the same reason. Rest in Peace Mr. Bell
Dave Van Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 In the late 1960's....68 and 69 maybe ...the LA Times ran a new car special section each fall when the new cars came out. The entire front page of the section was a 'cartoon' drawing of a busy 'city' with 100's of car related tings going on. Always wondered who the artist was.....it sure looked like Bell's work....any one ever heard of these??? RIP
MicroNitro Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 When Dave Bell drew my lake T in Street Rodder Magazine I thought I had finally made it in car building. I still have the poster he did for 1977 street rod nats.
Zarana-X Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 I remeber all the drawings in the back of Street Rodder. Is he also the guy that drew the Pomona Swap Meet posters?
Mercman Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 I have t-shirts he designed for the St. Rod Nat's. Another great artist to be missed.
Tom Setzer Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 I have enjoyed Dave's work for over 50 years. I have watched him work at several National events, and he never failed to amaze me! He will be missed in the Automotive Hobbies!!
horsepower Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 The world is rapidly losing the masters of the "Rodding World" Dave will be missed, "Street Rodder" will not be the same.
