Dr. Cranky Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Mark, this is very cool. I wonder to what extent working with paper like this gives you a greater appreciation of line and curve design. Excellent.
TooOld Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Mark , That is really cool . I've seen paper models of planes , but never cars . Is there a book or something that explains how to ?
Mark Crowel Posted May 13, 2012 Author Posted May 13, 2012 I intend to write such a book. My inspirational book for cardboard model building is Herbert Lozier's 1967 book, Introduction to Model Making.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Never tried to build a car with paper, but built lot's of paper airplanes from kits, like the ones from ModelArt, WAK, or Fiedler's Green. I have a very cool paper kit of the '36 Ford, I got online, but never built it.

JunkPile Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 It's more than thinking outside the box....it's thinking with the box in mind. Hey Mark, how about a '63 Avanti built from the box of a '63 Avanti plastic kit?
Mark Crowel Posted May 14, 2012 Author Posted May 14, 2012 Chuck, did you see this?: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=58326&hl=&fromsearch=1
Mark Crowel Posted May 14, 2012 Author Posted May 14, 2012 Bob, an alternative to me writing a book, would be to put my models in kit form. Kits can be put on the market sooner than books.
