retroguy Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 some of you probably know this,so this is for those who don't... In 49 and 50 Joe Merola drove a 1948 Tucker #12 in a few nascar races.... the cars factory number is #1004 and currently owned and on display at the Toyota Museum in Nagacutecho,Japan... there's an article in the March 2012 issue of Hemmings Classic Car...
Steve Rocketwheels Buckner Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 ...here is another shot of the same car....
bbowser Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Interesting history. How did they fare in the races they ran? I love that they ran whitewalls .
Steve Rocketwheels Buckner Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 I think that the only "Nascar" listing is one race and it shows it was entered but didn't complete a lap. Not very good records back then , so who really knows?
Guest Johnny Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 I believe the other race was some sort of match race or the like and it had the same thing break. The wheel/axle issue was a common problem that someone made a fix for.
