midengineaddict Posted May 13, 2012 Author Posted May 13, 2012 I wrote this to TDR... "Hi, I just want to know if you have as a project to scale down to 1:16 the following parts in ultra frosted details materiel... 426 hemi timing chain cover, water pump, alternator and starter. A kobelco 18-71 intake can be cool to... Note that I'm not in a hurry, but I think many people can want to buy these parts, 1:16 scale become more and more popular and 426 hemi is a very nice engine. Tanks" I will post is answer
Bonekrosha Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 A decent tunnel ram that will fit the DOH Charger Hemi. Flowmaster-style mufflers.
eviltwincustoms Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Hey Luc I hope Tim gets back with you.. Just as an FYI most of the parts are created by modelers and provided to TDR to sell. A good example is the engine parts and the screw blowers were all created by Dave Smith in true scale 1:1. I know Dave and even Phantom1 is spending or spent many dollars in having stuff created such as scale 1:1 pro mod bodies.. Just to have them done up in 3D before they could be printed in 3D. Really for us, it is about going out and either using cad and creating the things we want or find someone to do them. Then reach out to Tim to see of it is something he would be interested in putting on his site.
blackbeard Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 hey luc its costing me $ money to having a pro mod body created in 3 D and I know it cost dave some money as well as his pro mod was created in 3 D
midengineaddict Posted May 13, 2012 Author Posted May 13, 2012 is answer... "Getting our engines down into the 1/16 scale is a goal of ours. We just have so many other things in the works right now that we just don't know when we will get to it. Thanks for asking though. We will get them there, I just don't know when" I think I will not disturb him again and I will be patient..
TedsModeling Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 Having had my chance to work with Tim (TDR) and give him my ideas, he's really open to anything you want. As Bart was saying, Tim needs real world dimensions and photos to make something. He's true to scale and won't just throw something out there - I have to commend him for this. He won't make something without dimensions because he needs the info to put into the computer. Then he just presses a few buttons and whamo-slamo a new part. That's why his stuff is so realistic - because it's a scale version of the real thing.
Mr.1/16th Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 These guys are great to meet in person if you ever get the chance too!! can't wait to see what they come out with in 1/16th scale.
