Can i use rustoleum automotive primer on plastic models? Thanks

Test it first on some scrap. My experience with most Rustoleum products, particularly on mid-'80s AMT kits, will craze styrene.

Bill, that's been my experience too. Ruined a few models using it. My primer of choice, Ryan, is Plastikote.

Duplicolor is also a good one to use as well.

Most auto parts stores will have duplicolor or plastikote primers available in their paint aisle, if you don't see it, ask them! NAPA carries duplicolor, as do most of the others.

The Rustoleum is a bit heavier and will bury details in the primer coat.

Always spray a test piece for compatibility.
