vintagestang Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Don't forget black smudges on the white walls! Its looking good!
Brendan30 Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Brian Looks great! I wanted to tell you I took the Cranky technique of spraying mud with the air brush and a brush mixed in the liquid mixture with powder rust. I wet the rust with alcohol to a slight thick paste run the brush through it and spray the bristles with the gun across the model in certain areas. It's nice because it leaves splattered rust marks so you can get a nice combination of colors.
Brendan30 Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I was also probably 1/2 an hour from you today, I was in Pittsburgh.

Guest Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 The reason there isn't a gas tank on the frame is because on pickups, it's behind the seat inside the cab. They were that way until '72.

Dr. Cranky Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Bite of the GREEN DOG! I love it. Great weathering there, Bryan.
59 Impala Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 (edited) Lookin good my friend. By the way, now it has two gas tanks, one regular one and one reserve. You knew that anyway didn't ya? Great build Bryan. Dan Edited June 4, 2012 by 59 Impala
zaina Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 look-in great. I am building this kit and if I remember right it came with a gas tank that fit in the back of the frame. I also have the last issue of this kit and it also had a frame mounted tank. Will look later. Keep it going.
zaina Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 looked over lunch and both of my kits came with frame mounted tank...guess the trolls must have taken yours is this the new kit that has the option for the 38 model year or is it the last issue with the geren one on the box? grilles are probably the same on both. i have and extra grille and shell (dont know if you need both) for the 37 ford if your are interested in trade (im looking for some 32 front suspensions if you have any to trade)
Guest Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I just checked my kit and it does in fact have a frame mounted gas tank in the rear. Now that I think about it, the tanks may not have been behind the seat until much later. I know the very late '50s Ford pickups had the tank behind the seat. They may have been frame mounted until then.
