Eric Macleod Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 This is my first posting here. It is a Hendrix Checker A-12 marathon. Lots of Revell '55 Chevy parts were added. I welcome your thoughts on this one!
Lownslow Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 awesome and its not a cab, do they still make this kit?
george 53 Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Who cast this body? It came out GREAT!!!! VERY nice!
Harry P. Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Petty cool... it's nice to see a model of a car that you almost never see a model of... but I have to wonder about all the goobers in the paint in the rear view? BTW... I moved this to "Under Glass."
george 53 Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Sorry, Eric, I see now that it's a Hendricks body. It really came out nice!
charlie8575 Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Now for something different! I like it. Is Hendrix no longer casting? Charlie Larkin
Eric Macleod Posted June 5, 2012 Author Posted June 5, 2012 Thanks to all for your comments. Harry P I have to admit I am a bit chagrinned by the rear paint "goobers." I flirted with the idea of redoing the entire rear of the car but frankly, this one fought me so hard I decided enough was enough. It is not one of my better paint jobs but it is my best foiling job ever. Charlie, I don't know if hendrix still makes the same model (or if they every did). I have had the transkit for several years and really can't remember where it came from. I did look up R & R's website and find they have a Checker Supurba listed there. Their kit looks a little better than what I was using as their headlight bucket and taillamp bezels are cast seperately. That would have been an improvement. Make no mistake if you order one of these. They are a real bear to assemble. This one had a heck of a twist to the body and still is not "right" in my book. Despite the flaws (like I forgot to clear out the finger prints from the inside of the windows...then epoxied down the body *&^&%$#!) I am happy with the results overall. One other comment. I recently bought something else from hendrix (a Model T Fruit Wagon) so I believe they are alive and kicking. Thanks guys. Eric
Terry Jessee Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Think that's actually an R&R kit. I have one. THAT ONE is a really nice job on a very difficult kit with many fit issues. Well done. Terry
Bartster Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 Nice to see something out of the ordinary. Foil looks great.
