philo426 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Cool project I am working on an O?T scratch-built Monitor type iron clad. Not steam punk per se but in the area!
Brizio Posted June 11, 2012 Author Posted June 11, 2012 Is this going to be a steampunk-esque mono-wheel, like the one in the new Men in Black film? I didn't watch MIB, but I will check it out! Cool project I am working on an O?T scratch-built Monitor type iron clad. Not steam punk per se but in the area! Nice! Do you have a post of it, I would like to follow your progress.
Brizio Posted June 12, 2012 Author Posted June 12, 2012 Little more progress, the burner door, handle and another handle that open the bottom part of it.
philo426 Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Yes!I have blow by blow construction posts on finescalemodeler.com under ships (u.s.s Monodock) and on swannysmodels.com
hotrod59f100 Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 That burner is cool. I just finally got into steam punk stuff then I realized that now there's a diesel punk to? I have a steam punk build coming up soon . I tore apart a old garden tractor moter that blew an came up with som interesting little gears an bearings to slap some thing together . I like how your project is comming together. Good luck.

Thank you! It is been a while since I follow the steampunk thing, I like the concept all those weird machine, vehicle, but I'm not 100% into, so I will never dress up or thing so. I prefer the steam punk than the diesel punk, because I think it is more interesting, kind the original one. I think for us, model builder it is fun to build something "different"! Cool project on your tractor, looking forward to see a post here. About weird machine look a this:
cobraman Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Something like some of the gizmos that were in the movie " Wild, Wild West ?
Dr. Cranky Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Saw the word STEAMPUNK and it got my attention. I'm curious to see more of where this one is headed.
Brizio Posted June 12, 2012 Author Posted June 12, 2012 Something like some of the gizmos that were in the movie " Wild, Wild West ? Kind of, but mine has only a wheel, this because of the "economy"... Cool! Thank you!
Brizio Posted June 12, 2012 Author Posted June 12, 2012 Saw the word STEAMPUNK and it got my attention. I'm curious to see more of where this one is headed. Glad you see it, so you can tell me if I'm doing something wrong with it.
Brizio Posted June 12, 2012 Author Posted June 12, 2012 Done with the burner... I also start the cylinder.
Ira Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 NICE WORK!!! I don't know what it is but it looks Great so far!
philo426 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Speaking of steampunk i found this little gem in one of my parts bins!
Brizio Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 NICE WORK!!! I don't know what it is but it looks Great so far! Thank you Ira, me either... Speaking of steampunk i found this little gem in one of my parts bins! That is pretty cool! Finally I put my hand on the wheel... The bend pins is only for make it easy to handle.
Brizio Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 Thank you both! Here the cylinder ready for paint. A little logo for the burner... And the tire...
Brizio Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 Is the tire an "o" ring ? No, I didn't though about a O-ring, I should have! The inner part is a piece of paper, and the outside part is made by three wires, one bigger in the center and two small on the side.
Brizio Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 Some more progress... The wheel is done, at least for now, for sure I will add more parts to it, but I need to wait to install burner cylinder and tank.
Brizio Posted June 15, 2012 Author Posted June 15, 2012 Thank you guys!!! Today if the weather keep up, I will shoot some color on it... This is the front headlight, the back of it.
