Hi, I'm getting ready to do a 69 GTO Judge. The color i'm looking for is cameo white. Thats the white color GM used and - that seems to be the color of the GTO on the box, and i like to stay close to the box.

I would like to use enamel paint and testors only has a white enamel. the cameo is a bit off white. could i expect to match this perfect or should i just use the white testors paint and be happy it's close enough. what would you guys do?

thx, john

I'm guessing you're using a rattle can. Have you tried Dupli-Color Perfect Match from the auto parts stores? It's not enamel, but you might get a closer match to what you're looking for. Look for a GM/Chevy Dover White (same color for 1969 Pontiac Cameo White).

In 69 judges were only available in carousel red.

Wrong.

my cousin came home from Viet nam and purchased a brand new 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge and it was Black.

I asked him about it even then, and he said the dealership had a few colors to choose from,

but he wanted a Ram Air III / 4 speed. And it just so happened the Judge was a Ram Air III / 4 speed.

but it was definitely Black.

If you can find it, I have used Tamiya TS-26 Pure White for an '85 Monte Carlo SS. The factory color was the same as the Corvette white I beleave.
