AzTom Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 I use the Tamiya holders as well. For the larger heavy diecast I use two of them on a cheap plastic turn table. The other half of the Tamiya turning paint stands.
Deathgoblin Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 A wooden plaque that I got at HL. Drilled holes into it and inserted looped copper rods. I can bend the rods however I need to hold the body.
Dr. Cranky Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 I use the Tamiya paint stand, but I also love to use Donn Yost's metal pipe stand with tape and you are good to go.
High octane Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 I use a variety of things from a nice Shabo Paint Stand, coat hangers and old primer cans. One of my nest buys is going to be the nice Tamiya stand set! I like the old Shabo Paint Stands also as I have two fo them.
peekay Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 I also use a small, unopened bottle of beer with mounting tape on the cap. I hold the bottle in my hand while spraying and wear a long rubber glove for protection. This way I can turn the model to any angle I need and the weight keeps it stable when I put it down.
