vintagedragfan Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 I have seen this car in person, and trust me, it looks even better, this is outstanding craftsmanship, every detail is perfect! I dont think it is possible to make a 40 ford any cooler! beautiful job Alyn!!
Art Laski Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Alyn, Terrific build. I wish I had seen the WIP earlier so I could follow along, but somehow I missed it. You can bet I'm going to go back through it! -Art
Alyn Posted July 26, 2012 Author Posted July 26, 2012 Greatly appreciated comments from a couple of great builders. I admire you both. Bill, hope you have a great time in Louisville. I'll have to get out that way some day.
Modelbuilder Mark Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Here's some pics of one I built a year or so ago, but just finished the WIP today. Revell 40 Ford business coupe. Chopped top, reworked trunk area, reshaped grille shell and headlight buckets. The interior panels scratch built to give the look of inner structural panels. Lots of scratch built details on engine, interior and chassis. WIP: http://www.modelcars...opic=49399&st=0 nice model, nice staging
rmvw guy Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 This one turned out great!!! The interior gutted door is a cool detail indeed! I love the flathead and flared headers also.

Alyn Posted July 29, 2012 Author Posted July 29, 2012 (edited) thanks again for all your continued interest and great comments. Big congrats to Andy Lesiak "Zaina" for taking the top award (and $$$$) at the KKOA LeadSled Spectacular in Salina, Kansas. His 49 Merc with a beautiful black paint job won the 777 award. Great looking model with subtle blue flames, clear a mile deep and really nice foil work. Very well deserved. more KKOA here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=60489 Edited July 29, 2012 by Alyn
