Here's what I'm starting with

I'm in need of the complete bed a flat head v8, wide whites with some steelies, radiator and a new chrome grill.

Going to be a shop truck for my diorama

If it is going to be a shop truck, why not build it with a flatbed? Is it going to look like it was "restored" or look like some parts thrown together like a rat rod?

got a mock up today. im thinking these wheels might be cool, but if i can get some wide whites and steelies they will be whats getting used. I belive ive got a bed coming for it. this will be taking some time off the bench though as i get some stuff rounded up for a iormama im going to be doing.

Also got some photo-etch from model car garge and this will be my first time using the photoetch parts. Thanks to my friend for the photo etch! (you know who you are!)

If i can round up the wide whites and steelies they will be getting used. These are peerly for ock up at the moment, but i do kind of like them if i werent to get the wheels and tires im wanting to use.

Still have tocome up with a cool motor for this. im sure ive got one somewhere. maybe a hemi or a cadi?

Not sure if you plan to or not, but you need to do a blackwash on the wheels so they look a little better. Same with the grill. It's lookin good so far.

doing it to the wheels now, but the grill really has no need to it looks right through into the radiator. im going to be putting the headlight bezel trim in black though.

Didn't notice that the grill is open... I need to go to sleep. Hope to see more progress.

Another update. Got the wheels black washed and put some silver on the lug nuts and the dust caps. Also put the photo etch on the hood. What an adventure.

And maybe the engine being used? who knows?

Fixed the paint problem on the cab and hood. Will have to reattach the photo etch. Orange peeled before. Just scuffed and repainted beforr:

Motor work and engine bay tomorrow if I get time. School starts back up Tuesday so maybe try to get this done before then?

Got the glass in tonight.

Cut the right side glass to make it look like the window was down.

Great looking truck. If you wanted to get wild, maybe find the twin-scoop Hemi engine from an AMT '53 Studebaker kit. They shouldn't be that hard to find, and I bet it'd all fit under the hood.

use the bb chevy for a drag car not old ford like that flathead would be better,,,
