Guys, I would like to know from the experts here, what is the difference between the resin bodies from Jimmy Flintstone '59 Ford Country Sedan Wagon #125 and R&R 1959 FORD 2 DR. WAGON in terms of quality and accuracy.

Ok, the R&R comes complete and cost around 48 bucks. In another hand, we get JF´s body only, but the price is $19. Considering I will need a Revell '59 Galaxie as donnor, what do you suggest me?

That´s the project:

Thanks fellas!

Oooo Drago, that's like compareing apples to oranges! BOTH are kinda rough on the INSIDE of the castings, but they both look GOOD on the outside. I've got alot of resin from BOTH, and for the price you can't beat JF. He only chargers 10 bucks for MOST of his bodies at the swapmeets, BUT you ONLY get a body. If R&R is a COMPLETE kit, THAT might be the way to go. I have quite a few R&R kits and they DO NOT just fall together. You MUST make an effort with his kits, but the results can be OUTSTANDING.

If you go with either one, be prepared to do ALOT of inside cleaning up. as they BOTH leave QUITE a bit of resin on the inside. NOT hard to do, but messy and time consumeing. But they are about the same in extieior quality, which IS pretty good. :D;)

George53, thanks for the input! ;-)

Joker.. you are right.. I had not noticed that.. shame on me. Thanks for the advice and for the tip of '70 Imapla's rims.. Is the same I need for this project!!!! (BTW, very nice model...)

So, I guess I must go with R&R...

Thanks guys!.

May I note please . The '59 Fords did not have rear hinged back doors . The door handles side by side on this model appear as rear hinged doors . The back doors would open from the front . The handle for this setup is "suicide" . For obvious reasons . Lincoln Continentals from '61 - '69 had these doors . Did JF mold this as such ? Thanx ..

Call it artistic license ...hence the purple and the white pearl.

A nod or sharp salute to the Lincoln Continental..

It is in the Ford Family album right?

Or just as my alias implies..

Joker ...why so serious ?

I HIGHLY suggest Jimmy Flintstone over R&R. Jimmys casting is atleast void of air bubbles and complete voids. R&R is completly aweful when it comes to casting quality, and your almost sure to have alot of air bubbles and most likely voids in the casting. Its truely unfortunate, because R&R has alot that all the other casters do not. If you have advanced skill, you will need all of it for the R&R. If it were me, id buy them both and use the JF body, and the R&R interior bucket (im sure that is a real mess too, but if that is all you have, then...)

Good luck, and please show and tell!!!

No worries Mate..

The wagon can be built into a "Stock" wagon as well.

(Ricky Nelson sang it best..I went to a garden party..

But it's all right now

I learned my lesson well

You see you can't please ev'ryone so

You got to please yourself)

I just see the stock version potential with a twisted brain I guess.
