stray kat kustoms Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 (edited) Well since this is my first post i guess i should start by introducing myself just a little. My name is Ryan although most people just call me "Kook", a nickname from highschool that has stuck. I am new to this site but not to modeling in general. My love is for 50's and 60's era customs, as you will get to know by my modeling subjects. Anyhow that is a litle about me now on to this current build. This started life as the galaxie limited 48 chevy sedan delivery kit. the body has undergone a lot of sufgery since then and as you can see all that is left is the fron cab section which has been chopped. once i have gotten the chop completely smoothed out and the doors rescribed i will be adding the drip rails back to the body. As for the powerplant i am going to be using a 440 sixpack that i will be modifying the intake manifold on to accept tripple strombergs. not to sure on the rest just gonna figure it out as i go along. My skills are merely adequate, but i hope you all will enjoy this and future builds of mine. now here are a couple pics........... "Kook" Edited July 20, 2012 by stray kat kustoms

W-409 Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Very cool looking project you have there! Old School Customs are great without any modern stuff and that's why I like them very much. Keep it going.
stray kat kustoms Posted July 20, 2012 Author Posted July 20, 2012 Thanks W-409, I agree with you. that is what has always drawn me to oldschool customs, just the pure craftsmanship and ingenuity that people would put into their cars, not to mention the blood sweet and tears........."Kook"
scbaker Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Great looking custom so far ... What kit did you take the rims and tires from ... They look pretty cool ! ... Love steelies with white walls ... Keep up the great work ...
crazyjim Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 My mind can't imagine where you're going, Kook. I'll be watching for updates though. Welcome to THE BEST model car forum there is. (I really mean it, but I'm also trying to make points with Gregg).
stray kat kustoms Posted July 20, 2012 Author Posted July 20, 2012 scbaker, thank you for the comment. The rims and tires both are from the galaxie limited kit mentioned in my original post. They are in my oppinion the best set of stellies I have ever worked with. They are very detailed including valve stems crazyjim, from what i have seen of this site i would have to agree with you. it looks like a bunch of people that all share a passion for this hobby and are willing to help eachother out whenever possible..........."Kook"
