The body is Duplicolor GM medium blue metallic and the frame is MM Italian red laquer. Body is cleared with several coats of Future applied with a brush.

Looks good, takes me back to my first one I painted metallic blue back in the 1960s. I've always loved this kit, can't wait to see more. :)

Here's a mockup of the body and chassis.

Not sure about the scoop as it was poorly molded I sanded the sides completely flat to improve the fit.

Is it just me or does that blower look too short for the engine ? I haven't started mine yet. Built one many , many years ago but don't remember noticing that the blower looked small.

It does look that way but it is comparable in size to other 6-71s in 1/25 scale. I think the mag is located too far back on the engine which leaves an empty space behind the blower.

Here's a pic of a real one:

Finally got some more work done. I relocated the mag and painted the seat. Also changed the slicks and scuffed the tires. I may do whitewalls on the front too.

Got some plug wires on her and as you can see, I need to touch up the chrome parts.

The original mounting hole for the mag will barely be visible with the body on.
