JSREMotorsports100 Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Just a random comment, if anyone has had the great outcome I am seeing. I got the Skyline R34 from tamiya a while ago and just now opened it, late night and nothing to do I decided to start. but back to the point I am amazed at how little to no flash this on this thing. saves me so much time from trimming with an exacto. again just a random comment!
zenrat Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 That's pretty much par for the course for Tamiya. Carefull with the paint thicknesses as some of their tolerances can be so tight that too much paint will mean fit issues.
jbwelda Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 i thought you were going to report finding a lot of flash on a tamiya kit. this i had to see!
MAGNUM4342 Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 i thought you were going to report finding a lot of flash on a tamiya kit. this i had to see! Me too! I was like "What the whaaaa...?"
Pete J. Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 I too was expecting to hear a report of flash. I have a large number of Tamiya models(over 200 at last count) and have never seen flash on any of them. It is just the halmark of a passionate company doing what they love.
horsepower Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 I was amazed to find a kit that compared to Tamiya when I opened the Moebius Chrysler 300C kit.
JSREMotorsports100 Posted July 24, 2012 Author Posted July 24, 2012 well for me just getting back into the hobby not to long ago. but a lot more serious now. I wasnt expecting it after doing other kits from other manufacturers. this is though my first tamiya kit and i am loving it. finished up gluing the body and putty some body lines. im going for a sleek look. lol
martinfan5 Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 That old saying, you get what you pay for, and for the price of Tamyia kits, its nice not to have any flash
