Hi, I'm Michel, although my real name is spelled different, my co workers call me Michael. I live in Carmichael, CA, and moved to the United States 11 years ago. I was already a NASCAR fan when I lived in the Netherlands so when I came out here it was not hard for me to adjust. My wife, who is American and father in-law introduced me to the fun of collecting although I already had been collecting Formula 1 cars and building Tamiya kits. Currently I have around 400 diecasts, mainly the 1/64 but also numerous 1/24 scale models.

.

My favorite driver is Mark Martin but I also like Carl Edwards, Gregg Biffle, Dale Earnhardt Sr., I hate Jimmy Johnson with a passion and I'm also not a big Denny Hamlin or Kyle Busch fan. That being said, I would not wish any harm onto these poor guys.

.

I like to collect anything that has to do with racing. Whether it is motor cycle racing (I was a big Freddie Spencer and Kevin Schwantz fan), rally racing, endurance racing, formula 1 or Nascar, I love it all.

.

Besides Motor sport I love American Football (Patriots), Basketball (Sacramento Kings) and baseball (San Francisco Giants). Waterpolo, chess and checkers are not my fancy.

.

I like collecting sports jerseys and racing jackets and visiting main sports events such as Nascar races, baseball games and basketball games here in the Sacramento area.

.

I will post some pics of my first model that I built in 12 years. Its a Jeff Burton Raybestos #8 T-Bird. Its not my best build but hey, its been a while.

.

The uploading of the pics is not really working so I put in a link that should give access to another forum that I am part of and where I have photo albums.

I got the message. What I meant by it that I dislike them as drivers but they probably are great people in real life knowing that they have charity foundations set up for those who are less fortunate. I understand that this is a forum about modelling and I would like to be a part of it as I have recently rediscovered my passion for it. Now I have to figure out how to post pictures on this forum.

Welcome, Michael. I think we understood what you meant, with most of us being fans of some sport ourselves.

Here's one of your pics:

Thanks Casey. The stupid thing is that it will upload the picture but it will not complete the process. Thanks for posting my pic.

There are multiple ways to upload or post pics- the attachment feature is easiest if the pics are on your hard drive, the "...." code if they are already hosted on the web, and the direct image feature (the little green tree on the bottom row of the reply box tool bar), into which you just paste the url of the pic. Any of those will work.

Nice Bobby Hillen car Michel. I know what you mean, I don't care for the 48 or 18 either. I think it has more to do with them stinking up the show, everybody loves to hate a winner  . Welcome and hope to see some more work from you. There are a lot of great builders on here and lots to learn.

Are you referring to the #8 Raybestos car? It is Jeff Burton. I was not aware that Bobby Hillen drove this car as well.

Oops. Well I guess you don't have that much to learn from me  . Bobby did drive the 8 when it was Miller High Life I believe, when Bobby Allison was in the 12 team car.

Aha, well thanks for that information. I just might make that car someday. I am now working on a custom that I will show off later.
