Slammed 1995 GMC Sonoma Pickup

Recommended Posts

I had a request to show a build thread on this and ive decided to show the build progress and will be bringing this back out tof ix alot of things that i dont care for such as frame mods, suspension, lack of detail, and a big thing rip out the bed tubs i put in that are ugly!!!!!

first off shaved everything: 2011-12-23220050.jpg

and yes that back bumper will come off and will be replaced with a smooth roll pan.

Next is the chassis. I did this using tube styrene, and for my first time modifying a chassis i dont hink i did bad, but it will be getting tore back ddown and fied to look like this:

i my change up the chassis design later. the front a arms will be changed and made more realistic. and bags will be added.

i did paint this truck, but it has been stripped as i didnt like it and am going to be redoing alot of things. you can somewhat see the tubs that are going to be ripped out because i dont want them there. may replace it with some clear plastic.

NICELY done!!! I'm kinda a Dime/Sonoma lover myself (had a static slammed '96 Dime extended cab and a more slammed '95 2wd Blazer both last year, slammed as in,3-4" frame clearance with a static drop on the Blazer,LOL!) :D I'll definately be looking forward to this build! :D

Glad to see you posted up a build thread. Looks good in that blue. Can't wait to see the changes you make.

I noticed it looks like your heating the plastic round bar? If you are just remember, it bends fairly easy, if your using a light move the flame around only for a few seconds. If there is smoke or there are smoke marks on the plastic your holding the flame on there to long. Try bending it under hot water, easier to bend and it won't distort the plastic either.

Btw, I was thinking about your build the other day and how I want to try my hand at baggin my 49 merc. I've done real trucks just never in scale size. I looked through some of my saved links, take a look, they should help you a long the way. Good luck
