Moon Pie Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 I've wanted to build a '57 Nomad for a long time, but have put it off because I never could find a kit that the body proportions looked right. Has anybody improved on their kits? who would you recommend? Thanks!
Zoom Zoom Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Scale Equipment, Ltd. has an excellent and very correct Nomad resin body. The master is based on the old-tool '57 which many feel looks more realistic than AMT's new-tool '57. Scale Equipment Ltd.
Lyle Willits Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 I agree. I have the '57 Nomad from S.E.L. and it is very accurate. It's a bit pricey at $75.00 and has a pinhole or two, but it's the best there is, so far.
bobss396 Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 The only plastic kit I know of is the Monogram one in 1/24th scale. I'm kitbashing one into a pro-street and used the new tool AMT '57 front bumper on it, just looks a lot better in proportion. Otherwise your choice is the expen$ive resin one. Bob

Bowtienutz Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Revell's 57 Nomad is the only one that I've seen that IMHO looks good. It's a old kit OOP. It has the opening doors and tailgate. Not the easyist kit to build because of all the working features. It originally came out in '68 and was reissued many times. I can't comment on the SAE resin. But the 1/24 monogram is not what you want. Vince
