m3m Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 hello, i got this kit at a garage sale for a buck.(new in box) i had no clue what to with it, so i started and my wife said let me pick the color! ok! well she came back with a tan color(name i forgot, maybe ugly!) she said paint it this color, with this int., and make it a cool cruiser. so i did and when it was done it looked ugly so before i showed her i changed it and added a big block (from my parts box) added a dominator carb, int, nos kit, etc. and added some wider "cheater slicks"(hard to see in the picks they are fatter but i wanted a "don't look at me " ) and it was done. she said that looks good just what i had in mind! then i showed her what i did and told her what a sleeper was and she loved it! she told me to show it and see what u guys thought. me i hate it,(lots of foil!) its ugly, but it fits as a sleeper in that way. kind of not the usual sleeper! and no it is not one of my best models, " just different" as my wife says! the motor pics suck! i can not get a good pic of the motor but it does have all the wires fuel lines, etc.(still new to my camera go easy!!!!!) in real life i guess it would have a 572, cheater nos system(same as my real cuda), and about a 10' street slick. run high 10's (not on the track no roll bar!) and clean house on the street! i don't know maybe it is just ugly and way off! but is was different like she said! some pictures! comments always welcome!!!!!!!!!!
MrObsessive Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 Actually Jeryd, that ain't so bad at all! That's actually a "period" color for GM and Chevy in particular in the early '50's. That was a time before all the bright colors such as turquoise, and pinks, and yellows, etc.
Moon Pie Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 It looks exactly like a car my Dad had, but it didn't have that kind of power.
Fisher61 Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Very cool build ! I actually like the color, a '51 Chevy wears it well !
Dragon7665 Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Definately Great Color choice on your wife's part! Very subtle, and Quite a Classy Sleeper

41CHEVY Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 WOW!!!! SLEEPER IN THE FIRST DEGREE!!!!! Almost a factory color too!!! Kind of along the lines of a moonshine runner!!! Shades of "thunder road"!!!! PAUL
