captin Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 (edited) this is the start of my 32 ford 5 window coupe. im going for a pirate theme mixed with a rat rod i feel that if a pirate came on land that this is the type of vehicle he would drive. its hard to see it now but once im finished you will be able to see the full effect. pictures of the engine without the wash done waiting to order from ak interactive to get my wash so it tones down the gold a little bit but all in all its slowing getting done. captin Posted September 5, 2012 Author Posted September 5, 2012 some pictures of the interior of the pirate rod not fully done have to add a wash to it to make it look a little worn and put some white wall on the tires but have to dirty those up a little bit so they dont look so new
Dr. Cranky Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Nice detail of the sword shifter. Loving it.
captin Posted September 8, 2012 Author Posted September 8, 2012 (edited) got my ak interactive washes in the mail yesterday first time using them and i love them they really make the part stand out and look worn in dirty the engine is my favorite it really makes it look like it has some ruff miles on it. hope the pictures are bigger this time. crazyjim Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Looking terrible - in a good way. Did you get the AK stuff from AK? His shipping is on the high side.
captin Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 yes i did and you are right his shipping is fast i dont even think it took a full week for them to come in
Dr. Cranky Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Nice work on the weathering. It's looking nice and ratty just the way we likes them.
captin Posted September 24, 2012 Author Posted September 24, 2012 finished interior of the pirate rod added a little sand to the floor and the seat cause more than likely the captains pirate rod will be parked at the beach and add the steering wheel wanted something different than just the regual steering wheel so i cut the tops off to make it more unique
bryan_m Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 that looks good! nice weathering... cheers bryan
captin Posted October 9, 2012 Author Posted October 9, 2012 have the frame and engine components all together put sand on the tires cause more than likly this pirate rod is going to be parked at the beach.. as i was putting the sand on one of my wheels ended up breaking off got pretty frustrated but i ended up getting it back on just a little tweaking on the body and should be ready to put it on the frame..
captin Posted October 17, 2012 Author Posted October 17, 2012 here is the pirate rod in its finishing stages just have a couple minor details to do to it and it should be finished. put some mig pigments on the body so it would blend in better with the rusty frame and decided to put the front and rear bumpers on to make it a little more custom looking not sure about the rear bumper sticks out kinda far so i might have to do some modification to it
