Nick Winter Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 I have a 1/25th 1970 Monte carlo, it has molded in fender skirts and is pretty basic on the detail, is molded in white and has 1970 on the bumpers, is this a promo? Nick
Guest Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 The easiest way to tell if it's a promo usually is if the hood is molded to the body. The glass and interior will also have tabs that go over large mounting pins molded to the body. The chassis will have four screw holes to screw the chassis to four mounting pins molded to the body and a plate that covers the engine area with engine and transmission detail molded into it. If you can post a photo of it,we could tell for sure.
Rob Hall Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 (edited) Sounds like the original issue AMT Motor City Stocker Series MC.... I have one, it has the fender skirts and doesn't have an engine..can't recall if the hood opens or not. The AMT '71 annual I have is a full detail kit. Edited August 24, 2012 by Rob Hall
george 53 Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 The motor city series HAD opening hoods but underneath, it had a block off engine plate for the chassis. Sounds like it IS a Motor City stocker series kit, Nick.At least I'd say it was.
Nick Winter Posted August 25, 2012 Author Posted August 25, 2012 Yes That's it, Thank you Guys! I now know what I have, now what to do with it. Nick
