I'm new to airbrushing and would like help with choosing paints...

So far I've heard of createx, vallejo and zero...

Createx comes in transparent and opaque, are the differences obvious or is there more to it...

I've heard that zero paints attack styrene...

so I would appreciate any info...thanks

You can use what ever paint you want, just have to thin the paint enough to use it in the airbrush

You do know that Zero paints are based in the Uk?, and shipping for one bottle of paint to the states is around $30 US

If you want to buy pre mixed paint, try here, these are for auto colors

There are no limits on what you can air brush, the world of paint is at your finger tips really

I used Createx paints and find them very good when thinned properly, however they dry flat and need clear coating to bring out the shine, Zero are indeed based here in the u.k and are airbrush ready auto lacquer, so will eat into styrene if their primed beforehand, you might want to try Tamiya acrylics, as they are safer on plastic and much easier to work with, especially as your just getting into airbrushing ...

Hands down, try the new Testors airbrushable acrylics. They are fantastic. I did this in 15 minutes, including time for the compressor to pump up and cleaning.
