Blackout Racing Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 (edited) Got started on this 1960's style build last night, my goal is to build it like it was build by some kid in 64-65, you know the type, right? Well i've got this far and was wondering if I should stick to my gun and paint the trim on or go with BMF, even though it wasn't available back then, what do ya'll think? Thanks Edited October 15, 2012 by Blackout Racing
GTMust Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 ..........my goal is to build it like it was build by some kid in 64-65, you know the type, right? Maybe it's just me... but I'm missing the point of this. Usually "kids" back in the sixties messed up the models, so they looked pretty sad by today's standards. Is it your intention to purposely create a "glue bomb"? Or are you referring to a full size car built by teenagers of the era? Could you expalin what you mean? Tony
JunkPile Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Glue bombs rule. My vote is for silver paint applied with a poor quality brush.
Gluhead Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 BMF it! Glue bombs are rad, but only when naturally occurring.

Not quite a "glue bomb" but in that style, hope this helps some..
Blackout Racing Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 Silver paint it is, well maybe, I sorta like it without the trim showing. Oh well, maybe I'll do just one side and see if its likeable. Thanks all who responded. I still have the spots, mirrors, antenna, side pipes to go...
charlie8575 Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 In the 1960s, there was a Bare-Metal type product available, although it was a bit pricey (much like BMF now.) I like these retrospective builds, and done well, they look nice. There's something to be said for well-done simplicity. Charlie Larkin
