Platerpants Posted October 20, 2012 Author Posted October 20, 2012 (edited) was suposed to be a rat rod i went a little too far with the red. But this is the styling i was looking for. Edited October 20, 2012 by Platerpants
Platerpants Posted October 21, 2012 Author Posted October 21, 2012 Neither of those cars are rat rods. there are different levels of ratrod, from baremetal to primered or flatblack sorry it doesnt have a chevy v8, it is lower than stock. the thing about gt40s is they are made of fiberglass and aluminum so they dont rust.
W-409 Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Neither of those cars are rat rods. Yeah, Rat Rod is nowadays quite large category, where are cars from Matt Black, pretty clean Hot Rods to real rusty "bombs". Of course there are different levels of Rat Rods, and I think this one qualifies into Rat Rod category, as it is today. I mean that it's really large category nowadays.
Platerpants Posted October 21, 2012 Author Posted October 21, 2012 i think if i left the headlights alone(stock coloration) and maybe a better color for the interior it would be rattyer.
CEKPETHO BCE Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Rat Rod category is not a large at all. People just misuse that word left right and center. The category that is large is "Rodding", which includes, but not limited to, Hot Rods (traditional style that includes, among other things, matt black rods), Street Rods (Shiny with modern engines, interiors, and suspensions , and Rat Rods (which are the rods designed to look outrageous as well as if they are built on extremely low budget with parts found at junk yard. These are also not designed to be very derivable). 95% if the time the term Rat Rod is used to describe a regular Hot Rod. BTW the term "Rat Rod" is shunned among most hot rodders.
george 53 Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Paintin it flat black makes it a rat ride? That lil black pickup looks like it might just be waitin for a paint job to me.
B.DougBeck Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 (edited) I don't know what ya call it, but its different and a great save! Great exercise in damage control!! Looks cool! Edited October 21, 2012 by B.DougBeck
Platerpants Posted October 21, 2012 Author Posted October 21, 2012 I know its a new style a mix between city slicker/rich guy car/and hot rod.
