topher5150 Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 I'm looking at repainting an older modle of mine. I'm just debating would it be easier just to cover everything that doesn't need paint, or would I be better off taking it apart and redoing it?
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 I'd recommend taking it apart and doing it right. You can't do a really nice paint job on a 1:1 car without dis-assembling it, much less a model. Then again, it depends on what you want the finished results to look like. If you don't mind overspray on stuff, difficult-if-not-impossible masking and resulting bleed of the paint under the tape edges, and a devil of a time polishing it, well by all means, leave it put together.
