crazyrichard Posted December 12, 2012 Author Posted December 12, 2012 (edited) thnx vintage yesterday i rolled some thin electrical wire into airlines (spiral) and painted one yellow and one red .. today i made cuplings on the rear of the cab and attached the hoses , now i need to make some connector things on the trailer side alright i will reveil my secret i just put these guys to work , works great hahaha Edited December 12, 2012 by crazyrichard
crazyrichard Posted December 15, 2012 Author Posted December 15, 2012 thnx i thought the racer was too clean , like something was missing . i usually dont like flames on cars but these where the best option i had from what i had lying around . and well when they where on i really liked it. the decals have had a mild white wash to blend in with the salt weathering .. and made a bar on the back of the racer where the truck's pushbar can push against
dimebolt Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Both look great Richard. Awesome job. Corey
Alyn Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 The truck is turning out fantastic, Richard. Have you started on the trailer yet?
crazyrichard Posted December 17, 2012 Author Posted December 17, 2012 thnx guys , and no i have not started teh trailer , i'm curently looking for a cheap old trailer to use the parts from , hope to get one very very cheap as i find a kit to expensive for what i am planning , most will be scratch and a all wooden floor (real wood) also i will put smaller siz wheels on it from my partsbox so i can keep the floor low and make a gooseneck , so the base can be an old trailer from any kind
John Teresi Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 (edited) Richard........this build is looking ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!!!!........I love it .......I am a big fan of salt-lake racers........EXCELLENT!!!!!! Edited December 17, 2012 by John Teresi
crazyrichard Posted December 17, 2012 Author Posted December 17, 2012 thnx !! well this racer is made out of an old left over busted body and some spare parts i could find (even some stuff out of a old formula 1 kit) one day i def. want to make a noher one and then use a full kit so i can really make a big project out of it. this racer was actually done just to put on the trailer and as a test for salt weathering .. i'm also planning on making a belly tank racer and maybe score a old airplain kit and use the hull of the plain as a body
Art Laski Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Nice work, Richard! You really made something special out of those old parts. The truck looks terrific as well! -Art
Tom Geiger Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Great work. I just read the whole thread. Looking forward to the trailer build and seeing the whole vision complete! It's also good to see that I'm not the only one who changes direction during a build!
