Junkman Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 OK, Jim Rockford's Firebird wasn't the only car sporting the tags 953-OKG ,, What's that car?? Rockford's number was 853 OKG.
Fabrux Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Can't find an uploadable picture but here is one that may be a bit more obsure- New York plate number NCC-1701 Show and actor Heroes, George Takei.
vypurr59 Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 National Lampoons Vacation cruiser station wagon also had 853 OKG
Pete J. Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Just a guess, but William Shatner or Gene Roddenberry? Reasonable guess, but no.....Not really close.
Pete J. Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Heroes, George Takei. That would be it! It was always fun to try an spot all the StarTrek referances. I find it intereting that Syler became Spock. It was really hard initially to suspend Syler for Spock.
vypurr59 Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 (edited) 2z77767 is the Porsche 500 Spyder that James Dean lost his life in BDR 529 is the original Bluesmobile from the original Blues Brothers movie "The letters and numbers in the license plate refer to a bike club in Dan Aykroyd's home turf of Toronto, the 'Black Diamond Riders.' The clubhouse was located at that city's 529 Jarvis Street." Edited November 6, 2012 by vypurr59
tubbs Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 WOW!!! i have not even seen a quarter of those movies. and if i did, i would not remember plates... you guys certainly pick out the details!
Agent G Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 BMP216A, FMP7B, were both on one car, along with a third that is a dead giveaway. Name the type of car, the movie, and the character. G
vypurr59 Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 It dosen't have any plates on it in the movie besides the dealer's advertising plate. Can you post a pic of that? I dont have any way to post a pic of it, but when Chevy Chase drives the wagon out the drive, he loses the rear bumper and the license plate is seen
dmk Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 "JJZ 109" = Steve McQueen's Mustang " RDR 838 " = Bill Hickman's Charger Both in "Bullitt" (1968). It should be noted here that the Mustang's plate is *incorrect* for a 1968-model vehicle , as "J" was a 1964-issue letter . The Charger's plate is correct for 1968 ( "R" = 1968 ) . Wouldn't it have been plausible that the plate was transferred from a previous car?
Agent G Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Wouldn't it have been plausible that the plate was transferred from a previous car? No, in California the plate stays with the car throughout it's lifetime. G
dmk Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 (edited) Oh, that's interesting. In the states I've lived in you could keep your current plates when you got a new car and sold the old one, or else you had to turn them in to the DMV. Edited November 8, 2012 by dmk
Agent G Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Missouri and Nevada are the same way. As far as I know only California has that requirement. Go figure........................... G
