It should be noted here that the Mustang's plate is *incorrect* for a 1968-model vehicle , as "J" was a 1964-issue letter . The Charger's plate is correct for 1968 ( "R" = 1968 ) . In the states I've lived in you could keep your current plates when you got a new car and sold the old one, or else you had to turn them in to the DMV.
