Geno
Just getting started but I'm excited about this build. I'm actually combining parts from the Street fighter kit and a diecast model. Plus the big block and other bits from a Monogram '70 Chevelle. traditional
Hi Geno, Looks like it's going to be a fun build. Glad to see you're getting back to modelling, and also happy to see you're going to use whatever materials are available to make an interesting model. Jantrix
I have this kit too with the red glass. I wish there was someone after market making clear windshields for this one.
Geno
Here's the dash. I didn't like the plain flat dash with just the tach, so I cut out an opening and grafted the panel in from a '59 Chevy dash. it's just roughed in right now but it'll get there. Fabrux
The Revell 1960 Impala is a great donor for this. I'm doing the same project only with a Jimmy Flintstone resin body.

Geno
Ok, I've got the color on. I used Model Master #28141 Sterling Silver Metallic Lacquer. I plan on using the 1834 Wet Look Clear Lacquer. Should I wet sand before applying the clear or shoot a coat of clear then wet sand? I was going to shoot the clear, wet sand and apply the decals then clear it again. What would you all suggest as the best method? Thanks, Geno. FASTBACK340
Sand & polish the clear. Then add decals, clear again, and carefully clean-up the polishing you already did. Edited November 19, 2012 by FASTBACK340
