hacked Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 hi Guys, i'm looking at buying a built 1/12 scale xjs jag, i've had a look around the net but can't find anything. can anyone help me out. who makes it? is it worth buying? thanks Jeff
monkeyclaw Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Don't know of a 1/12 XJS; But Imai or another Japanese maker did an XJS kit in 1/16 some years ago....I do see them on ebay occasionally. Price $50-$70 for a mint kit.......................Matt
hacked Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 hi Matt, thanks, but i don't think it's 1/16 the guy said it's 400mm long. cheers Jeff
Jordan White Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 It could be labeled as 1/16, but may scale out to 1/12. There are a bunch of kits where the model is actually larger or smaller than the scale indicated on the box.
hacked Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 thanks Jordan, would they have been that far out, so it will be 1/16 or 1/12 or something inbetween? thanks
sjordan2 Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 I thought I'd seen this before - 1/16 by Bandai. Check UK eBay.
cortinanut Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 I have the Entex 1/16 kit--is that a repackage of the Bandai? I have not built it, but it seems like a good kit to a casual inspection.
sjordan2 Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 (edited) What confuses me is that 400 mm in length is over 15 inches, which would indicate a 1/12 kit. A 1/16 version would be somewhere around 10 inches, the size of my 1/16 Gullwings. As a large-scale builder, I have never heard of a 1/12 XJ-S kit. Jeffrey, please keep us informed as to how this comes out. Edited November 18, 2012 by sjordan2
