Just posting a gentle reminder to anyone interested in attending the Central Pennsylvania Model Car Club's annual model contest and vendor show on September 16th 2007 in Gilbertsville, PA.

We have historically hosted about 350 models in a variety of classes at each of the previous seven shows. Voting is by way of spectator ballot, and trophies are awarded for each class (21 this year) as well as the "Best of Show" honors.

This year's theme is any 4wd or all wheel drive vehicle driven on or off road. This means pretty much anything from a rallye car to a Monster truck.

In addition to the contest, there will be a bunch of vendors selling kits and accessories as well. This is a neat way to spend a Sunday whether you enter a model for competition or just come to hang out with us.

For more information, go to the CPMCC website ( http://www.freewebs.com/cpmcc/index.htm ) and check out "Special Events".

I'm also happy to announce that all 22 trophy packs are committed to and the cache of door prizes is starting to shape up nicely thanks to some generous individuals, clubs, kit vendors and corporate sponsors!

The list of classes is as follows:

Factory Stock 1900-1949

Factory Stock 1950-1965

Factory Stock 1966-2008

Custom

Street Rod

Street Machine

Competition – Road & Track

Competition – Drag

Tuners & Low Riders

Curbside & Slammer

Light Commercial

Heavy Commercial

Juniors

Diorama & Miscellaneous

Small Scale (Under 1:25)

Big Scale (Over 1:24)

Motorcycle

Muscle Car 1962-1972

Resin Bodied Kits

Contest Theme (Anything 4WD or AWD)

If anyone needs more info, has general questions about the classes, or would like info on how to participate as a vendor or donate items for door prizes, send me a message here on the forum, or at centralpmcc@hotmail.com.

I know there's a separate area for this type of post, but I was hoping not to upset anypone by drawing it further up in the list of catagories.

Hmmmm... although the trip is 180 miles each way I'm considering it. The show is really nice with lots of kit and parts vendors. I scored a semi-grail last year for $15, so I was happy. The models are on the same level as the rest of the show, which is an improvement over previous shows.

You better come down to see us this year! You never know where a "must have" kit might be lurking! Besides, if you don't go, I ain't goin' either! So there! <_<

God permitting I will be there, hopefully I can finish some of my projects for I have not been too busy at the glue table :(

You'll be there no matter what! I'll try and make it, but a great forecast for sun, sand and surf might bump me going to the show. I'm right off the ocean and hot beach weekends are a premium from now until late October.

In other words, see you there! :)

That never stopped me, amigo!

You have to be there! Who else will keep an eye on Lyle for us?

You and "Da Boyz" are always welcome guests!! You can even bring uncle Bobby!

Uncle Bobby still has not gotten permission to go. :)

There may not be celebrities like Gregg at the show, but Lyle comes close to being one, and I'm sure he'd be happy to give autographs :)

Hey my mug shot has been in MCM I'm close to being a celeb  . Plus you never know who shows up at a show.

You can ask Lyle that one.

Hey,

I am allowed out and I will be there with the Philly Boyz. Will Marcus Cruz's best friend Boyd Coddington be making a return visit this year?

We'll alert security as usual.

Uh, as far as Boyd goes...I've shaved my beard and have a little more of a Foose thing goin' on...except for the hair, which he actually has. And the money. And the fame. And the talent. Actually, pretty much the only similarity is gender. I'm just going as myself.

Yes, I'll be signing autographs in the booth in the corner. I'll also be selling posters and magazines while wearing my bright red hot pants and tight yellow t-shirt which shows off my very full hooters,,,,,,,,,,,huh?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,oh,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,wait,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,apparently I was channeling Jungle Pam for a moment.

Okay, as discusting as that was, it served the purpose of bringing the September Showdown thread to the top again!!!! :D

Thanks Lyle. I really appreciate you selflessly baring (virtually, of course) your naughty bits for the cause, but MAN what a visual I'm saddled with now! B) Please change the channel!

Any of you hobbyists out there who are within a couple hours' drive of Gilbertsville, PA owe it to yourselves to make the trip on the 16th and witness this snappy banter first hand! We'd love to have ya!

I heard that Replicas & Miniatures of Md will be there, welllll doggies. I just might make the trek. Nothin' worse than going to a show and bringing money home with you. Norm will fix that for me.

He most certainly will, as will Wheel to Wheel hobbies, who can drain whatever you have left to spend on detailing accessories. Oh, and Bradley's Car Collectibles, Model Man and Fantastic Plastics will have you running next door to the Turkey Hill store...they have a MAC machine. Nobody will turn your cash away!

W2W hobbies usually has my fix for me. I'm not much into buying kits unless someone has cheapo NA$CAR offerings for kitbashing donors. Looking forward to going Sunday, may even have a couple of models to put on the tables.

Bring as many models for the show as you can carry! You build good stuff!! (Leave enough room in the trunk for the aforementioned goodies you'll be trading all your cash for)

Unfortunately I can't make the trip tomorrow. If anyone can do me a favor, I'd like a Replicas & Miniatures catalog if someone could grab me one, I'm more than willing to pay the postage for it. I'd like to order up some '49 Merc as well as some other parts.

Thanks, Bob
