Kaleb Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Ok here is one for you car gurus. I've done a search on this and I'm not sure on what I'm exactly looking for. So here is the deal, I have a 1:16 cobra that I bought without an engine. What I want to do is build a diorama with the car painted etc. and have a engine setting by it. Now here is my question, if buying a crate engine is it actually shipped in a crate or what? How are all the parts shipped?
Cato Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Yes it's on a pallet inside a wood or cardboard box. Not much to look at closed. You can fab a pallet and an open cardboard box on it's side nearby-or a bunch of loose boards. The motor bolted to simple feet on the pallet.
Kaleb Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 Ok, that's what I figured, thank you. I have no engine parts at all so it will be a closed crate. I will probably add a few performance parts boxs on top as well.
Cato Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 If you want to add some interest, add a Summit, Jegs or World logo on the box sides.
Kaleb Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 Yea I was thinking that as well, thank you Casey that's what I was looking for. I did happen to find some crates but they were open to see the engine. I came to the point of either building a pallet with a cardboard box or a closed crate.
