Hello Builders .. Just a small update . Starting to have some issues with this build now.

1 I messed up the paint on the hood.

2 had to take out the wiper motor to fit the air cleaner.

3 Exhaust not sitting right, had to reposition it. but now my crazy glue will not hold in the new spot where i want the anchors to mount. does crazy glue go bad after 3 weeks of first use?

This is how she sits now. Just have to paint the interior body around the bottom of the windows. Then panel lines and bmf

Hello Builders . I have just finished painting the head liner. Next step is fix the exhaust or do the panel lines with water color.

The part about the wiper motor, was this due to a kit flaw or maybe the paint? Just want your opinion. As far as the BMF, I give up. I spent an entire morning on mine and gave in to silver paint once again. I just can't seem to work out my battle with BMF. Your's is looking good so far.

Thanks Andre, I watched the tutorial on BMF and bet I have played it over and over in my head 100 times. I have followed all of these steps too many times with minimal results. I may succeed in getting one strip on then the next is a disaster as was the case on my '57. Time and time again I have chipped paint jobs or worse. I had one piece on and just saw one little place.......rubbed it and my fingernail just scraped it. The worst part is trying to get this stuff back off. Another problem i have had, there is already a wrinkle in it when I buy it and it just won't rub out. I give up, then it always sucks me back in for one more try. The only use I have found for it is a little piece under the hood for a clamp or strap. BMF is not my friend, I will probably always revert back to silver paint. I usually use a Prismacolor pen from Hobby Lobby. It is easy to apply and forgiving. It can be cleaned off with just a little dab of Gojo hand cleaner on a brush with a paper towel or Q-tip to wipe it off. When I get it just right I clear over it. Anyway that is the end of my rant, sorry.:lol::lol:

Thanks for the update photos, looking good! Noticed your tail pipes and reminded me I lost one of mine, they are so small and they just roll around and get away if your not careful, like me. I will have to open kit number 2 to get some more. I've been having a little trouble with Photobucket too. Wonder if they are in the process of making users switch to the new. Hey, keep up the good work, you are almost there.

Hello Fellow builders..

Well its getting to that time . Almost done time.

The only thing left to do is the hood. This was my second attempt to paint this hood, and I failed. Waited a few weeks after to sand.

Here is how she sits now...just asking for a nice warmish day so she can go into a glass case.

Glad to see you back. It looks like we are both going to finish about the same time. I am to step 14 on the directions, all the tiny trim pieces and decals. Are you ready to start a second '57 Ford? It might be a lot faster with everything we have learned about this kit. ;)

Hey Ron.. I have been lurking and fixing a thing here and there on this build. Nope this will be the last I build this Kit probably. Cant wait to get my hands on the pro stock Camaro That is coming out. really cant wait.

but for now I am on my 76 Caprice.

I purchased my second kit already so, looks like I will be building at least one more. I plan on making it a Stock Car Racer of some kind. I really want to do the '50 Olds next but, still trying to finish up some other projects first. Good luck on what ever you build and I'm still looking forward to seeing your '57 finished. You inspired me to start my earlier then originally planed by watching you in the beginning of this thread. It's been a long haul with several steps backwards for both of us.

Success I finally got my 3rd attempt to fix the hood right. waiting for paint to dry out on the hood ornament and she is done

I can't believe how much grief that hood gave you.

It's gonna be something that will always be associated with

your '57 Ford and then you'll just grin about it.

BMF work is looking clean too.
