Old Sprinter Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I'm now building a car for a client in South Africa. His good friend, Johan Roos, owned and drove this car to several championshps there. It's an 06 Maxim, 410 winged pavement sprinter.
Old Sprinter Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 It's 1/8 scale. I use 3/16" styrene tubing for the chassis main rails, 1/4" for the front axle and 3/8" for the live axle rear end. On the hood I use 5/16" tubing, cut in half, for the part that wraps around the rails
krazyglu Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 I love watching you build these thing's, the paint scheme is wicked on this one.
vintagedragfan Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 another great build coming together Ken, too bad they don't run some asphalt around here!!
Old Sprinter Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 Here's s little something different!!
Prostreet Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Awesome work Ken, you have some amazing styrene skills.
Old Sprinter Posted January 17, 2013 Author Posted January 17, 2013 Converting this over to a dirt car, the guy in SA tried to bone me for the money so I contacted the next guy inline and I'm building his winged sprinter.
Old Sprinter Posted January 25, 2013 Author Posted January 25, 2013 (edited) So the next guy in line is Bud Kaeding. This is his 2012 wing sprint I'm building. I almost done; got a few more things to do and decals. Hoping to finish before next weekend as he's here racing until the 3rd. Edited January 25, 2013 by Old Sprinter
vintagedragfan Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 fabulous Ken, he should be extremely happy with it
Old Sprinter Posted January 26, 2013 Author Posted January 26, 2013 I think he is and thanks Bill. Here's what it will look like soon.
krazyglu Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 What a center piece, this would definately look cool in any race shop.
Draggon Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Long been a fan of Brent, Bud, and Tim Kaeding. Wasnt the dad Howard Kaeding? Seems like Howard ran #68 and of course Brent usually ran #69. Saw Howard get into a fist fight at Antioch Speedway, might have been with Steve Kent, and Brent joined the fray. Love your work Ken!

Big time racing, multi time champion, family. When I raced, in the 70s, Howard was the hot shoe around northern California and Neveda. It was said that he invented the "San Jose Slide Job" Good people!

I saw it last year for the first time and it was awesome! I go to the track every now and then to watch the local races, but the WoO race is crazy.
Draggon Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Yeah Josh, Antioch Speedway is a great place to watch sprints!
Old Sprinter Posted March 1, 2013 Author Posted March 1, 2013 Thank you. It's headed off to the World Of Outlaw show here next weekend.
