Privateer Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 This is AMT's '72 Blazer. I lifted it with parts box leaf springs and blocks. The tires and wheels are from So Real. The paint is Tamiya Mica Red over Italian red and needs polished. I scratchbuilt the cage. The axles are from 2 old funny car kits with aluminum tube to widen them. The front axle has kitbashed tierods etc. Power will be from a bigblock. Hoodscoop is from the partsbox.
mhadman Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I love the top off look...Cool work...Any thoughts of painting the top black? Either way...Great looking blazer!
Len Geisler Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Nice build, I want to lift one too, just have not figured out just how I wanna do it!!!!
Captain Obvious Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 I'd hate to be the small car that accidentally gets in the way! Looks hot!
Privateer Posted September 9, 2007 Author Posted September 9, 2007 Here is a few shots of the finished chassis. You can see the leaf springs I used, and the shocks are from kit parts and styrene tube painted to look like Rancho shocks. I scratchbuilt a winch and mount for the front end.
